Growing up in an Air Force family, I developed a passion for travel at a young age. By the time I graduated high school, I had attended 13 different schools—including one in Taiwan—and I managed to visit all 50 states before turning 30.

I have fond memories of visiting my parents in Belgium during my college years, which allowed me to explore much of Europe. While I don’t miss the days of waiting for cargo flights on a C-130, those experiences gave me a unique perspective on travel; after that, even a standard transatlantic flight feels like a luxury.

After spending time in the corporate world across New York, New Jersey, Houston, Denver, Iowa, and St. Louis, I settled in Kansas City to raise my two daughters. Now that my children are grown, I am back to wandering the globe, though in much better style than in the past.
